Tia Gostelow has had a huge 2018. Our #WCW this week, she’s been kicking goals left, right and center. Born in Mackay, North Queensland, Tia is an indigenous Australian singer/songwriter who’s been on her path to success since she was a young child.
In 2016 Tia took out triple j’s Unearthed High Indigenous Initiative and has been non-stop since. She’s played a string of big festivals and has a growing collection of accolades, including a couple big Queensland Music Awards.
This year she released her debut album ‘Thick Skin’ which was extremely well received right off the bat. Providing a commentary on “tall poppy syndrome” and rolling with the punches, Tia Gostelow showcases her strength through songwriting. An empowering young woman, it’s no wonder why she has legions of admiring fans.
Not even 20 years old yet, this is just the beginning for her. An incredibly large talent, everything she’s put out has been nothing short of beautiful. One of the many young facing coming through our local music scene, Tia Gostelow is definitely one to note. We’re so eager to see her bring her album to life on stage at Falls Festival over the new year and highly recommend you do the same.
