NLV Records is excited to announce the brand new single from Swick, “Hydration” featuring Nina Las Vegas, a forward thinking club track off his forthcoming mixtape Court Composer out September through NLV Records.
Following the success of last year’s “Polo Love” featuring Spank Rock and “Slopes” featuring Tkay Maidza and Capo Lee, Swick dived momentarily into full-time production by working with Sydney’s Kota Banks on her singles “Holiday” and “Zoom”. With plenty more from the two coming soon, “Hydration” was an important return to club music for Swick.
“Hydration” isn’t the first time the Melbourne born producer has teamed up with Nina Las Vegas on a track, with the two releasing the Cool Sports EP on A-Trak’s label Fool’s Gold Records and the Don’t Send EP on Skrillex’s imprint The Nest in 2015. Since then, they have collaborated many mores times on each other’s musical projects. Swick featured on her 2016 EP EZY or Never and has toured Australia with Nina Las Vegas many times.
“Hydration” was completed in London with Nina Las Vegas, while the two were residing in Red Bull Studios for the first few months of this year. In classic Swick style, “Hydration” elevates Nina Las Vegas’ simple vocal melody “when it’s the two of us, I love it” with his distinct use of synths, sound design and vocal editing; building up to the drop that is impactful, instrumental and crazily fun. Nina’s final line before the instrumental takes over also reflects the sudden change of pace with the cheekily projected line “so put your stupid phone back in your pocket!” calmly placed over the build up.
The release of “Hydration” is just the beginning of a busy few months for Swick. Not only will he be releasing more music off his Court Composer mixtape throughout July and August, his work producing for Kota Banks, Nina Las Vegas and Swedish rapper Lilla Namo are all set for a mid year release.
“Hydration” proves again that Swick is never one for conformity; a producer that takes risks and pushes boundaries.
