Strict Face comes out strong with his first official single as part of NLV Records, titled ‘Murderer’ . As premiered by FACT the track features swooning vocals by K-Major – a hip-hop & RnB artist, from Atlanta, Georgia.
The intro to ‘Murderer’ is unexpectedly zen with syncopated rhythms, an undertone that remains throughout the track. Strict Face works in the grime with a stabbing beat accompanied by the occasional drip. ‘Murderer’ stays true to Strict Face’s UK grime/synth-pop inspired sound and K-Major’s top line brings an RnB element to the mix.
A fast-rising underground artist, Strict Face can count past remixes and mixtapes for the likes of Liminal Sounds, Dummy, Truants, i-D, Rinse FM and recently, NTS Radio. Combining aspects from the UK garage scene, synth-pop and R&B, Strict Face has found a unique sound that has quickly taken the Australian dance music community by storm.
After sharing ‘Rouge Park’ – the sixth and final track on the NLV Records sampler late last year – we now get a strong start from Strict Face with his first official release. Stay hooked for more from the Adelaide native in the back end of 2016.
